Where is "The Moon and Star on Earth" really located? Is there really such a place on earth? Where is this photo taken from? Or is this just a make-believe or a fake photo?
When I got this photo, I immediately searched online for the exact location, but found nothing. I've read in one forum that the star is fake! However, the moon is Molokini in Maui, Hawaii.

Any confirmation?

Look familiar?

It's the exact picture that was used to fake the star and moon photo. Multiple posters on another forum (http://neddy.wordpress.com/2006/01/13/moon-and-star-on-earth/) kept referring to Islam and various pagan and wiccan references. And some Hawaiian native got all up in arms about the destruction of Hawaii. Bunch of boneheads. I'm surprised that noone made reference to the star and scythe of the Russian flag. Couldn't that be the source of the symbolism? I'm not serious, but do you see how ridiculous these inferences are?

I, myself, think too many people paid too much attention to symbolism in 11th grade English and not enough to accepting things as they are presented. The moon and stars are continually fascinating and the creator probably thinks the moon and stars are neat, end of story. Although it was clearly a fake from first glance, it's still kind of cool.

actually.. if you look at the star island carefully. you'll see waves hitting it from the side where it faces the moon. now comparing the size of the vessels or even simple physics and common sense, it's kinda quite impossible that a wave can develop in such a short distance to 'crash' against the side of the star. also, if you compare the crashing waves on the side of the star and sides of the moon island.. they start looking a little too similiar.

so i guess this is a fake, but.. well, it'll really be wonderful if such an island exists.

The island is real, it is the Molokini Islet, located off the coast of Maui in Hawaii. As to the star shaped island, it is not anywhere close, if in fact it does exist.

If you look closely, you can see the tower (near bottom of island , in picture) which is also very clear in an aerial photo on google earth when you look up "moloki islet maui hawaii". the star has been added to that particular photo.LOL

The crescent shaped island is Ka'ula Island in Hawaii west south west of Kauai Island. It is an uninhabited lump of rock and there is no star. The star and moon photo IS a fake. Not only is it a fake but the fact that some fool tried to prove that 'God' made it, only helps to prove that, there is no god.

I have rechecked the photo and found I made a mistake. The island is actually called Molokini Is. and is off the coast of Maui. Apart from the mistaken position, every thing else stands, about the star etc.

Wait a minute, the picture of the moon island can be found here:
http://www.molokini.com/2006/11/10/molokini-mauis-best-dive-and-snorkel-location/
If you don't believe that, use Google Earth. It's at
20.633212 -156.496256. Sorry, no star. It's south-west of Maui. It's called Molokini.
I've flown over it a dozen times.

Ken - When I saw the picture, it was not represented as "real" though those who seem to know confirm that the moon is a real location. People "artistically" modify pictures quite often and we often see (interpret) such "art" based on our own knowledge, beliefs of backgrounds. But be assured that the existence of fools does not negate the existence of God.

I think its fake, the moon part of it is real but the star is definitely added or something, the islamic world would totally be all over it and if it was real there would be alot more realiable sources for the actual location and more than one picture of the crescent and the star put together than just the one ive seen so far. i reckon it would cause quite a bit of tension with all the different opinions people have on what symbol it could stand for if it did exist. but its true whoever said that people paid way too much attention to symbolism
cool picture tho :)

I think it's obvious that people pay attention to symbols, when they are put into a picture on purpose, it's meant to be symbolic, so it is
