Will the TMobile G2 be better than its older version TMobile G1? T-Mobile's new Android-based smartphone, G2, "will deliver tight integration with Google services and break new ground as the first smartphone designed to run at 4G speeds on our new HSPA+ network. In the coming weeks, we'll share more details about the G2 and offer exclusive first access to current T-Mobile customers", says PCWorld.

The device is the first one T-Mobile built specifically for its new HSPA+ network, which is touted as offering 4G-like speeds on the company's 3G infrastructure.

TMobile G2 (HTC) phone comes with HSDPA+ speed, able to match Sprint 4G.

8. OLED screen.

Samsung launches today the "Samsung Alias 2." It is a phone that looks weird but techie. If you are a Verizon customer, head on to the nearest shop and get this Samsung Alias 2 for just $79.

From Verizon Site:
The new Samsung Alias 2 gives you the convenience of a QWERTY keypad in a unique flip–style format. It has the same dual–hinge design that made original Alias a hit, but Alias 2 adds a touch of magic – a Magic Key keypad using e–ink technology. In phone mode, you see a standard phone keypad. In texting mode, however, the keys magically change into a full, four–row QWERTY keypad. But the magic doesn’t stop there. The Alias 2 also has a 2.6" QVGA screen for crisper, clearer viewing, a 2.0 megapixel camera, and dedicated hot keys for one–touch access to some of your most used features like Bluetooth, text messaging, voicemail, camera, voice commands, games and alarms.

Words have been spreading online that the latest BlackBerry smartphone, BlackBerry Niagara 9630, will hit stores in May 2009. There is no exact date of the release and no pricing is mentioned, but this will be a good thing to watch. Why?

BlackBerry Niagara will be handled by Verizon Wireless' network. Palm Pre, which is also said to be released this summer is Sprint-exclusive. Don't you know that Apple may drop a new iPhone in June or July? AT&T maintains the exclusive carrier rights on the iPhone.

So what is this about? It is about Verizon vs Sprint vs AT&T! Who will prevail? We will wait and see...

You can now constantly connect your Lenovo laptop with your Blackberry phone even when the computer is off or in standby mode.

Read the story "Sleeping Lenovo laptops to get BlackBerry e-mail":
Even with it is turned off, a new ThinkPad laptop will be able to talk to a BlackBerry phone so their owner will be able to read and send e-mail faster, the companies behind the devices planned to announce Monday.

Lenovo Group Ltd., maker of the ThinkPad, and Research In Motion Ltd., maker of the BlackBerry, have together created an accessory card for the laptops that will wirelessly download e-mail through the owner's BlackBerry, even when the computer is off or in standby mode.

That means that when the ThinkPad boots up, new e-mail will already be loaded. There's no need to establish a secure Internet connection to the employer's servers. The user will also be able to send e-mail from the ThinkPad through the BlackBerry without an additional Internet connection.

The "Lenovo Constant Connect" card will let users combine the always-on nature of the BlackBerry with the larger keyboard and screen of the laptop, said Rick Cheston, executive director at Lenovo. For instance, a traveler could flip open the laptop to do some quick e-mailing at an airport layover, rather than spending time to set up Internet access, he said.

The card will cost $150 or less when Lenovo starts selling it in the second quarter in the U.S. It will be available in the rest of the world later this year. Initially it will work only with Microsoft Corp.'s Outlook e-mail client, but Lenovo is working on supporting IBM Corp.'s Lotus Notes as well, Cheston said.

ThinkPads made last summer or later will be compatible with the Constant Connect card, and BlackBerrys made in the last few years will work with it, he added.

The card connects to a BlackBerry through the Bluetooth wireless technology. When the computer is off, the card stores new e-mail in flash memory.

It is already possible to connect a computer to the Internet through the Bluetooth feature of some phones, but this is a more lengthy, complicated process, and the computer must be fully on.
What is the hardest thing that you cannot do with your iPhone? Answer: to answer calls, send text and e-mails in a weather that's 20 degrees below zero. Try it with your bare hands and you'd most likely freeze your hands in no time.
Now there is a solution. Use gloves designed for iPhone use. A company called 4sight Products Inc. has managed to come up with a $40 gloves that have electrically conductive gold-colored material on the tip of the index finger and thumb.

The gloves are not perfect yet, but Apple seems to think it's a good idea.

The gloves are sold under the Tavo brand. Check out the site if you want to buy a pair.

Just as reported previously, Walmart is selling the iPhone. It is now confirmed, the largest retailer chain will start selling Apple's popular iPhone on Sunday.
Walmart will make the iPhone available to a price of $197 for the 8-gigabyte model, and $297 for the 16-gigabyte model. Crap, that is just $2 less than the regular price!

I do not know how the public can become interested with this. The rumors that Walmart will sell the iPhone for $99, isn't true after all. If the price difference is insignificant, never mind! I rather buy it at Apple Inc. or AT&T Inc. stores or at Bestbuy.com.
