Among all the sports people play, tennis is the one that I am quite familiar of. When I was in the Netherlands, I played tennis with my Chinese buddy twice a week. That was the time I had purchased a good tennis racket and a bunch of sports wear and gadgets. Over time I improved my skills, though not at par with my Chinese opponent who was a semi-professional tennis player.
I watch all tennis grand slams when I can on TV. I can even name the top 10 ranking players for both the men and women categories. That is how I love the sport.
Wimbledon is one the tennis grand slams. Being the oldest major championship in tennis, it is regarded as the most prestigious tennis championship in the world. It is the third grand slam event played each year in London England.
With the five main tennis events held at Wimbledon: Gentlemen's Singles, Ladies' Singles, Gentlemen's Doubles, Ladies' Doubles and Mixed Doubles, expect to see most, if not all, of the ranking players joining in for the coveted prize and title.
Of course, tennis fanatics queue overnight with their tents and sleeping bags just to get into the show courts and purchase Wimbledon tennis tickets. This is done by fans from all over the world and is considered part of the Wimbledon experience in itself.
If you’ll happen to be in London on 23rd June to 6th July 2008, experience the tennis game like you’ve never experienced before. Watch Wimbledon!
