South Koreans likes to study in the Philippines

South Koreans abound in the Philippines! Wherever you are in the 7100 islands, you see South Koreans alongside the locals. What are they here for?

Simple. Learn English. Learn the American English. The Philippines is now becoming a favorite educational hub in the Asia-Pacific region, especially for foreign students wanting to learn English.

According to a report, there are at least 30,157 Korean students in the country as of end 2007. This is good news for the unemployed Filipino teachers. Currently, language schools nationwide have provided jobs to over 5,000 local English teachers.

I hope this trend continues. This is beneficial not just for the South Koreans but to the Philippine economy and tourism industry as well.
