There are many things we say that we aren't aware we've been saying or using them twice in a sentence. Redundancy, that is. We might argue that we only want to emphasize a point. However, redundancy is just plain wrong.
Here is what I mean.
And etc.
Etc. is short for the Latin et cetera, meaning "and so forth." So, when you say "and etc." you're really saying "and and so forth." That is redundant. Better say "etc" only.
ATM Machine
ATM is the acronym "Automated Teller Machine." Thus, when you say "ATM Machine" you're actually saying "Automated Teller Machine Machine." Just say "I'm going to the ATM."
PIN Number
PIN is the acronym for Personal Identification Number. Thus, when you say "I need my PIN number" you're saying "I need my Personal Identification Number Number." Just say "I need my PIN."
HIV Virus
HIV is an acronym for Human Immunodeficiency Virus. Don't use the "virus" word twice. Just say "HIV".
More to come soon.
