Fun time everyone. Filipino jokes are the funniest jokes. Believe me, they are. But these jokes must not be translated to English, otherwise, they lose the fun part. I do not know why. But it is always good to listen or read them as they are.

Enjoy after the jump!

*****

Those khaki pants! I used to wear one in the Philippines, because I love the shade of khaki, not to mention the nice designs of some pants.

If you want to know where to but good quality police gears, I would suggest LA Police Gear shop. It is a business founded by, yes, policemen from L.A. Thus, the name.

The business has grown and changed greatly over the years and now serves the general public, military personnel, security professionals, and of course police officers!

What can you get if you buy from them? Only three important factors: extremely fast shipping, low prices, and outstanding service! What more can you ask for?

So get those tactical boots running towards LA Police Gear and shop now!

The Indian Night or Nite 2008 at the South Dakota State University (SDSU) came as a big surprise for me. Compared to last year's event, this one is many times better.

I arrived on time at the venue and, oh man, seats were running out! The hall was big and me hoping that less people would attend, I was too confident I'd get the best seat. Best, in my vocabulary, means the one nearest to the food table.

I was disappointed to realize that there was no seat for me. Eric has to stand at the back wishing someone would go the toilet so he could steal a chair!

Thanks heavens, an Indian friend offered a chair and two other Filipinos provided a little space for me to squeeze in. Thus, the sad little Eric became the happy bee again!

As usual, I am giving my rate for the Indian Nite.

Cultural presentation. Perfect. Indians have the best way to entertain Americans. What's the use of the popular Bollywood music if Indians would fail in the entertainment aspect? Rate - 10/10

Attendance. Jam-packed! That was the reason I wasn't able to get a seat. I maybe would give them a minus point for inviting so many people beyond the hall capacity. But I won't. People love it. That is why they were there. Rating - 10/10

Knowledge-gained. Since I have attended last year's event, there wasn't so many additional inputs I learned today. However, hearing and seeing the presentations was a good recollection. Rating - 9/10

Emcees. Among all the cultural events I have attended this year so far, the emcees for the Indian night were more lively. Rojit, the quite funny Indian guy (who is a friend) was one of the emcees. He brought a lighter side to the serious lady emcee. Rating - 9/10.

Food. I thought the food wouldn't surprise me as I have been eating lots of Indian food since I've been here in the U.S. I liked the bean stuff. It looked like peanuts, but it was a bean -- like boiled bean, soft and not so spicy. Rating - 9/10.

Indian people. Very friendly and they love to joke around. There was this Indian stand-up comedian who is always present in every event and who loves to get his break in the American comedy platform. He was quite funny although some of his jokes were really corny. I can forgive him for that. Rating - 10/10.

That's it guys. Indian night is the best so far. Watch out for the first-ever Filipino night next year. Have I told you already that I am organizing it?

Should I call this a pimple? No, this is acne. I am having this single recurring acne near my nose and I am hating it. Maricel knows about it because she sees it all the time. I am not a teen anymore, I should have not getting this!

I had a friend before whose face was really covered by acne. It really lowered his self-esteem. Acne is an annoying skin problem and its lesions are not likely to disappear quickly. Neither the scars. It also leaves your face to appear bumpy swelling. Gross.

Acne is caused by plugging of the opening of oil glands. As a result, the oil is trapped inside. Certain germs penetrate into the trapped oil and digest it into irritating chemicals. The skin tries to reject these chemicals through pustules (pimples), papules (bumps) and cysts.

If you have serious acne problems, let the experts give you solutions. In you are near the Chicago area, you can get Acne Chicago Treatment from doctors Eugene and Steven Mandrea, Board Certified Dermatologists. They know how to treat all types of acne and all grades of severities.

My tweety sister, in one of her blog posts, mentioned about being happily married! She narrated how she fulfilled her dreams as a single lady for many years. She never had any regret of marrying a little late than the usual marrying age of most ladies in the Philippines.

She is happy now and happy of the life she has chosen! She made a video, the first ever video she created via YouTube. Great result from a first-timer!

I love the "umbrella" song. Who sang this?

My American friend and I were just talking about hunting Canadian geese around Brookings and how fun it is to have a year supply of fowl meat in your fridge. The geese are coming into the town’s fields in huge numbers – like hundreds of thousands of them. If you get the license and the proper tools, hunting them is allowed.

There are quite a number of wildlife species that you could hunt in this part of the world. If you like wild deer hunting then come aboard and enjoy watching and shooting them. But you need a deer hunting blinds. There are many affordable ones you can find in the market today.

H&R Business Mall specializes in top quality outdoor sports products. You might want to check their site for your hunting tools.

South Koreans abound in the Philippines! Wherever you are in the 7100 islands, you see South Koreans alongside the locals. What are they here for?

Simple. Learn English. Learn the American English. The Philippines is now becoming a favorite educational hub in the Asia-Pacific region, especially for foreign students wanting to learn English.

According to a report, there are at least 30,157 Korean students in the country as of end 2007. This is good news for the unemployed Filipino teachers. Currently, language schools nationwide have provided jobs to over 5,000 local English teachers.

I hope this trend continues. This is beneficial not just for the South Koreans but to the Philippine economy and tourism industry as well.

Since I love oysters (Maricel is reading this and maybe she'd give me another bowl of oyster meal later), I will have another post about this seafood - jokes about the oyster! Smile if you like.

*****
Knock Knock!

Who's there?

Oyster.

Oyster who?

A student calling the attention of his teacher says: Oy ser, you dropped your pen. Corny...LOL.

*****

Oyster is a shortcut for -- Hoy Sister!

*****

Ugh, they were really corny jokes. Anyway, if you love this slimy little muscles inside the shell, Gulf oysters, then you have to Be Oyster Aware.

Always remember that oysters are yummy to eat but pose some risks to your health too. Thus, eat your oysters when properly steamed, fried, grilled, or cooked. That's my oyster tip today.

It was my first time to conduct live blogging for my American Idol music site. It was fun having people visiting the site and refreshing the page and waiting for the minute by minute updates.

I will do it again, for sure. I had a camera connected to my laptop and directed to the TV for the actual American Idol performance broadcast live. I admit the live feeds were weak and the reception not so good. But it worked well and good in the end.

Another live blogging tomorrow for the elimination night. Tune in to my e-musicality site.

Who doesn't want to be satisfied with sex their lives? If you can't find viagra, why not try something similar?

I chanced upon this site that promotes Tadalafil, an active ingredient in Cialis, which is a medication for erectile dysfunction. Yes, it's is just like viagra. It is known to be the best available drug on the market in increasing sexual prowess.

According to the site, 85% of men who try it will achieve a larger, stronger and longer lasting erection. Are there side effects? Majority said there is none. A few had headache, an upset stomach and a reddening and flushing of the face. If ever you experience discomfort, always ask your doctor.

So, grandpa, what are you waiting for? Try Tadalafil.

I am making this as a career. Although I have some flat notes, I think I did well. LOL. There will still be more singing videos to come. If you want to see previous posts, see sidebar or click here.

This song is titled "To All the Girls I've Loved Before", and dedicated to...yes, you know who you are.

[lyrics after the jump]
Lyrics:
To you, the girl I've loved before
Who traveled in and out my door
I'm glad you came along
I dedicate this blog
To you, the girl I've loved before

To you, the girl I once caressed
And may I say I've held the best
For helping me to grow
I owe a lot I know
To you, the girl I've loved before

To you, the girl who shared my life
Who now is someone else's wife
I'm glad you came along
I dedicate this blog
To you, the girl I've loved before

To you, the girl who cared for me
Who filled my nights with ecstasy
You live within my heart
I'll always be a part
Of the girl I've loved before

To you, the girl I’ve loved before
Who traveled in and out my door
I am so glad you came along
I dedicate this blog
To you, the girl I've loved before...

Since there are no enough words to thank her for all the wonderful things she has been doing to me, she will surely understand if I'll just say, Happy Birthday...oh well, in different languages.

Once or twice, that maybe is still sane. But 22 times? WTF! The commercial Filipino painter Ruben Enaje, must have taken his vow by heart to have himself crucified till 2010. This year, exactly on Friday, March 21, 2008 at 3 PM, Enaje will have his 22nd year of crucifixion!
This guy is Catholic. And this guy has a very unique way of doing penitence on Good Friday.

This should not be emulated. I think this is not the right way Christians should commemorate the dying of Jesus. To mirror Jesus' suffering by being nailed to a cross is insanity. That is why the Philippine government and the Church both frown on the practice. People who take part in the rituals every holy week have high risks of getting tetanus and other infections.

Why couldn't the Filipinos just kneel before the "real" cross, inside the church and pray to God for forgiveness of sins, rather than hang on a wooden cross and watched by smiling tourists [maybe thinking how crazy we are]?

This video is Ruben's 15th nailing. Watch those nails driven into the hands. Ugh!

This week is Holy Week. Have you said your penance yet?

There are so many passages in the bible that I love. I even memorized some of them. Here's one tip this Lenten season: read a verse a day. If you feel lonely, run to the bible and fill the emptiness with God's words. It really works!

Few passages for Holy Week:

"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him and with his stripes we are healed."
- Isaiah 53:5

"...let us approach with a sincere heart and in absolute trust...."
-Hebrews 10:21

"Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Oh, give thanks to the God of gods! For His mercy endures forever."
-Psalms 136:1-2

" And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst. And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost."
- Luke 23:44-46

Have a blessed week, everyone!

Maricel has been reading my blog. I wrote a post about oysters and days later she brought me an oyster meal!

I love the taste of oysters. The first "tasty experience" I had with this delicacy was when mom brought me to an early morning sea swim and saw fishermen carrying containers full of shells -- fresh oysters, they were.

The fishermen made a quick mix of spices, sprinkled it on few of the opened oysters and, boom!, a tasty raw oyster salad in an instant. When I tasted it, it made me crave for more.

This is a warning when eating raw oysters. In few cases, eating raw oysters could lead to vibrio vulnificus illness. Therefore, it is suggested you follow the post-harvest treatment processes, like those for gulf oysters to prevent the risk of getting ill.

Last Friday, we had a karaoke party in the house. We decided to have it on a weekend before Spring break. The party turned out to be well-attended vis-a-vis the party we had before. This one filled the house to its last space.
Val bought some booze to complete the night's happy hour. There were beers, brandies, tequilas. Some guests brought with them red wines and few more beers! You see, a party isn't a party without these necessities.

However, I realized late that night that I'd never be drinking anything that would give me a hangover the following day. I want to wake up with a light feel on my head. The last time we had a party, it took me all day sleeping and drinking water to get the "heaviness" on my head away.

A quick trip to the liquor shop was the solution. I bought my own drink - 2 bottles of Vodka.

Vodka is strong and it can make you intoxicated. But the good thing is, it does not give any hangover the following morning. When you wake up, it seems nothing happened the night before, like you never had the shots.

I got this from hungover.net: Liquors that you have to drink without the hangover hassle.

Red wine: has a reputation for giving hangovers

Bourbon: It's got 8 times the congeners of gin and that means 8 times the hangover.

Rum: Rumble in the jungle, it's better than bourbs but only just. Some people it with orange juice. Must be a health thing.

Brandy: Best drunk with fruit cake and a nice cup of tea on a delightful Sunday afternoon.

Cider: The queen on pain in the "soft" drink arena.

Beer: Beer, beautiful beer. Half alcohol beverage, half soft drink you can drink it 'til your belly bloats and feel just shy of awful the next day which, all things considered, is not too bad.

Tequila: Tequila. Also knows as To-Kill-Ya to the bottle-hardened, tequila's true power as a hangover agent comes from the way it begs you to drink it straight when you're already leaning on the bar to stay upright.

White Wine: Enjoyed by everyone but seemingly a little more a ladies drink, it shows that once again women are smarter than men by finding a way to have maximum fun without the pain.

Gin: Gin & tonic seems to be the favourite gine drink but boys beware...too much quinine, which is in tonic, can zap your nuts. And that'll give you a real big hangover.

Vodka: virtually hangover free. Get into it.

Lite Beer: Easy on the head, light on the gut, doesn't make you fat.

Champagne: Champagne's a bit of a devil in disguise.

Cocktails: If you want to drink without getting a hangover (and without resorting to Lite Beer or spritzers), a well made cocktail is as close as you're going to get.

Oh, did I say already we had fun with the Magic Sing?

I have never seen yet a pearl inside the oysters! Have you seen one already?
I love eating oysters, maybe because I came from a tropical country. In fact, since I've been here in the U.S., I am missing the many times I go to my favorite restaurant in my small city and get my oyster order. Oysters in the Philippines are not that expensive as compared to the prices in America.

Speaking of oysters, do you know that aside from the fact that oysters are one of the most nutritionally well balanced of foods, containing protein, carbohydrates and lipids, they can be a threat to healthy individuals too?

Consumption of raw or undercooked oysters by at-risk individuals may cause serious illness or even death from Vibrio vulnificus bacteria. If you have liver disease, diabetes or a weak immune system, you should avoid raw oysters. Thus, there is a need to warn oyster consumers about the potential hazard associated with eating raw oysters.

The BE OYSTER AWARE website is dedicated to educating the oyster consuming public. It provides a thorough background on Vibrio vulnificus and the health conditions that place an individual in the at-risk category.

So the next time you eat your savory gulf oysters -- raw, steamed, fried, charbroiled, grilled -- just BE OYSTER AWARE!

This is nice way to promote a University. I love the Stickman idea! This is incredible, smart and witty approach to promotion.

In the video below, Stickman answers the questions from his fan mail. Questions are very interesting, quite funny and the answers too! Couple with the Stickman cartoons, who could not love the character promoting the Kettering University?

Check out the video and then visit Kettering University to find out why their Stickman videos rules! Here is the video:

Kettering is a hands-on school. The learning and education comes from actually doing what it is you are studying to do versus just reading everything out from a text book.

To prove that the university is excellent in so many aspects, Kettering University is ranked as "the #1 University in the nation for Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering" in its annual "America's Best Colleges Guide for 2008". It has top ranked undergraduate programs in engineering, math, science and business.

As one of US News Best Colleges, it is a highly recommended school and puts it at the top of the list. If you are planning to take mechanical engineering, try Kettering University and you'd be happy to be there.

1. Hold on to your dreams and never let them go

2. Show the rest of the world what I already know: how wonderful you are!

I have been to Chicago twice. I don't know the city so well, but I am certain that it attracts tourists like me.

What is there in Chicago that makes me smile all the time in excitement? The answer; everything - so many things to do in Chicago. Chicago is a very historic city, also being the third largest city in the United States.

I love the city the first time I saw it. Although it was just a short visit, and it was a little rainy, still I love the architecture of the city. Don't you know that the first steel-framed high-rise building rose in Chicago? Looking from down below, I am quite certain that Chicago's skyline is among the world's tallest as of today.

If you want to visit Chicago, here are some places you need to visit: the Sears Tower, the Aon Center, and the John Hancock Center, Downtown and The Loop, the so many parks, Millennium Park, Chicago’s theatre communities, and so much more.

On your trip or family vacation ideas, contact Trusted Tours & Attractions - just to be certain your vacation time is spent wisely by visiting only the best tours, attractions and museums that Chicago has to offer!

Trusted Tours & Attractions has a special promotion now. Sign up for the Trusted Travels eNewsletter and enter to win an IPOD Nano! Offer ends Monday, March 31st, 2008. Signing up is free.

This is my article for the Collegian this week in preparation for Holy Week.

*****
Life's miracles often appear in diverse packages. A bunch of them take place in a flashing instant when you wish for them, others occur over a lifespan and still others occur when you are not even anticipating them. Regardless of the type, it cannot be denied that a miracle brings to us a wonder and an admiration at something unfathomable. A miracle that defines a wonderful accomplishment is what we all fancy to happen for ourselves. However, what truly aids a miracle to come to life, in my opinion, are: first, faith in God and second, goodwill.

For years, I have taken note on little and rather enormous miracles in my life and in the lives of people I have personally known or stumbled upon day after day. Since I started writing, I have been broadcasting life stories that depict miracles as I recognize them to countless souls through magazines and dailies. The stories were unequivocally spirit-uplifting. They were the sorts that offered a smile to a frowning face or inspiration to the heartbroken. Stories from everyday miracles. Inspirations from everyday stories.

One inspiring story that has etched a mark in me was about the miracles of the "flyday" night. I narrated the moments when most of the members of a Christian organization "fly." No, they did not transform into horrible-winged, sci-fi creatures. Called Flyday night, it is the night when darkness quivered at the slight sight of light, and good triumphed over evil. Flyday night refers to a gathering of students, teachers and communities adoring Christ on a Friday night that knows no mercy for all legions of demons and the like. That particular night I was invited brought so many miracles to so many devotees.

The life of Doods was the first miracle I heard. He was an unwanted child. His mother never planned for his coming and irrefutably attempted to abort him. He grew up without anything to call his own. Love was deprived of him just as happiness was insufficient to make his life as normal as the other kids around him. He could never forget how he silently rebelled for what he had gotten in a life he described as entirely miserable. Pain all to himself, he searched for satisfaction and found it among friends hooked on spending free time in school sniffing "powder." If schooling was the reason he was sent by relatives miles away from home, for him it wasn't so. He thought, with bitterness engulfing him, he was born to have fun with drugs and alcohol, and no one has the power to stop him from having it all. No one was there to tell him he was moving fast towards a sure dead end.

Yet, there is, on occasion, an unutterable loose twirl to a tight spot that the human brain cannot comprehend even. What came next was Doods' twist - the greatest and sudden miracle he could never forget, never have dreamed of or wished for. He was tagged by a stranger to attend a healing seminar one flyday night. For someone who had been through a lot of pain, a cloud of doubt hovered over him. Prayer was not found in his vocabulary. Worse, he constantly questioned the existence of God. But that night became a perfect moment for one living soul. Standing in the midst of the assembly, he cried like a baby and asked for God's forgiveness. He came out of church with an assured comfort and peace inside! No one and nothing stood stronger against God's strength that night. It proved to him that real happiness lies not on entertainment and other creature comforts, but to God.

He found a sanctuary, no ground in nature, no place and dwelling of man could ever give. Years later, he entered the seminary and started a new life, taking his own flight to what he believes now is reality.

I have been a spectator to a number of God's miracles in the past, and almost always, I feel the pulse to share them with people through my articles. I have been longing to articulate every opportunity that takes place in my life and hoping the articles will help inspire another. Each piece that I write, I always hope to be a miracle at work.

It might be a little leap for a big hope. But if every leap, insignificant it may seem, will help others find in their lives their own share of God's wonders, then doing so is worth the while. There are no coincidences. A miracle is a performance of God who chooses to stay anonymous.

Believe and share your miracles this coming Holy Week. Have a blessed break.

Sedona Method is a self-help method developed by a physicist and successful entrepreneur Lester Levenson after a serious heart attack nearly ended his life. Lester regained his health and attributed his renewed positive outlook to a process of self-inquiry of one's beliefs and related emotions.

The process is carefully designed to examine any emotion that one is experiencing and then "letting it go" or releasing it in the moment. The basic premise is that all emotions naturally come and go out of experience unless one resists them.

The Sedona Method is sweeping the planet. A lot of good testimonies have been shared at how this unique, elegant, simple-to-master and very powerful tool uncovers the natural ability to "let go" of painful, unwanted, counterproductive feelings. The Sedona method lets you discover a new earth!
Every time you use The Sedona Method, you are letting go of desire and surrendering to what is. This naturally lessens the pull of the “ego” and the “pain body” and brings presence into the foreground. You can use this process to get more or to stop a particular form of suffering and actually have that happen while at the same time being drawn effortlessly to the discoveries that will set groundwork for the presence that you are to easily take center stage in your life.

I tried to search for more examples of the amazing benefits the tool can achieve. Here are a few:

* Let Go of Anger
* Rapidly Improve Your Relationships
* Achieve Your Greatest Career Goals
* Eliminate Stress for GOOD
* Release Yourself from Guilt and Low Self Esteem
* Find Inner Peace and Nurture Your Spirituality
* Achieve Your Financial Goals and Experience Financial Abundance
* Stop Overeating and Finally Achieve the Health and Fitness You Desire
* Experience Boundless Energy & Be a Sound Sleeper
* Let Go of Anxiety & Fear
* Free Yourself from the Grips of Depression Forever
* End Bad Habits and Overcome Serious Addictions

Get your own dose of happiness set point. Try The Sedona Method. You can read actress Mariel Hemingway’s moving story of how she overcame emotional pain and fear with the Sedona Method.

Free DVD and CD will be given away! Get your dose of this peaceful revolution in consciousness and value.

I heard about the China night last year but I didn't care to attend. I thought I have learned so much about the Chinese culture that there is no need to join any event about China.
However, yesterday, I attended the China Night 2008. Like what I did when I attended the Nepali Nite few weeks ago, I will also give my no-holds-barred views about the China Nite.

Cultural presentation. It was good. There was a dragon dance, but not as lively as I always see on TV or in China towns. Rating - 7/10.

Attendance. The auditorium was filled from corner to corner. I am sure people were there for the food, which the Chinese culture has so much to share to the palette. Rating - 10/10.
Knowledge-gained. Truth be told, in my many years of staying in the Philippines with so many Chinese people around, I have already gained quite a huge idea of China and its culture. Also, I had so many Chinese students before who were eager to share about their country. For the sake of what I already knew, rating is 7/10.

Emcees. Much better than the Nepali emcees -- much livelier! Rating - 9/10.

Food. What can I say? Food was amazingly good. I might be biased in the sense that I am used to eating Chinese food - from noodles to soup to chopsuey. Nonetheless, in comparison to the Nepali food, last night's dishes suited my taste. So, perfect rating - 10/10.
Chinese people. ...so many of them. Last night, except for the ushers who were stationed to sell tickets, some were not friendly. I am basing my views in the number of times they smile to their guests, even if they were busy preparing food. Rating - 6/10.

Until next review.

Guess what's the popular wristwatch brand in the Philippines...it's Seiko. Try to ask your parents or grandparents about it, and they will say it's Seiko.

My first wristwatch was, yes, the diver’s stainless steel Seiko. I grew up wearing it everyday and in cases when I broke its glassy cover, mom would always have another Seiko replacement.

The way I see it, the brand has survived the test of time since it introduced its first product way back in 1924. In terms of aesthetics, its beautiful and well-designed. It looks very sturdy too.

I browsed this Seiko watches online for new fads and saw how the wristwatch designs have evolved amazingly over the years. I love the Seiko Coutura Watches with the three little circles inside and the blue background. Wait, Seiko also introduced the Perpetual Calendar series which automatically reset their date settings for the next 100 years. Awesome!

Check out the Seiko Watch site for discounts of their brand new Seiko products and 100% genuine, with original packaging, manuals, warranty and serial numbers intact.

By the way, did I tell you that Seiko watches are not just for men but for women too?

Most customers nowadays have PayPal accounts, thus, buying and selling and transacting money online will be just a walk in the park. It is secure to send and receive online payments using the credit card or bank account. It accepts most types of credit cards.

If you get into problems, there is always a community and forum to help you through.

You can even set up your Return and Refund Policy - set the number of days for returned items.
